Actions speak louder than words. We believe that for people of different faiths and different cultural backgrounds to have an understanding of each other, they must have opportunities to work together, not just talk together.
Our projects represent action: real, confirmable, provable improvements in the life of a community. They show that by working together, crossing faith and cultural divides, people can be brought together to achieve a common goal beneficial to all. In doing so we try to build up tolerance of other faith groups, and show that the best and happiest community is one who works together in partnership to realise their potential.
Inter-Act works in partnership with existing faith and voluntary groups to create opportunities for interfaith action for the benefit of the wider community.

Safe Garden Project
Volunteers are needed for this project to help & support elderly residents maintain their gardens, with the aim of increasing commnuity saftey and cohesion. Elderly residents are often unable to upkeep their gardens due to age, fragility, living alone, or living with a long term illness. Vandals and burglars often target homes of residents whose gardens are not up kept because they are easily identifiable, and therefore vulnerable.
This exciting new initiative, in partnerhsip with Enfield Police and Age Concern, promotes good relations between people from different faiths and supports inter-generational understanding and respect between young people and elderly residents living in the Borough of Enfield.
You will be require dto volunteer on a fortnightly basis, for 3-4 hours (refreshments will be provided and travle expenses reimbursed). Tasks will include cutting grass, trimming edges, sweeping, weeding, pruning, planting and painting. No previous experience or skills are required, all training and equipment will be provided. After 3 months volunteers will also have the oportunity to train as group leaders and support the next wave of volunteers.
