Safe Garden Project

Volunteer in a team of 14 supporting elderly residents with their gerdening in the Borough of Enfield. Tasks include cutting grass, trimming edges, sweeping weeding, pruning, planting and painting on a fortnightly basis, for 3-4 hours (refreshmentsprovided and travel expenses reimbursed). The great thing about volunteering as a contrbutor to Interact magazine is you can do it from the comfort of your own home, in your own time. As a volunteer writer you can contribute an article, opinion column, short story, review etc. There is no word limit; you may just want to write a letter to the editor (responding to the last issue) or write an investigative/analytical piece on a particular issue. There is also no requirement on how often you contribute; contribute once or on a regular basis. Contributions for the Autumn issue should be submitted by Wednesday 30th July.

Summer Internships

  • Editor

Lead and support the Editorial team; edit and give feedback on all contributions; contribute your own articles and opinion pieces; conduct inteviews for the magazine; writing editorial and compile regular features of magazine such as listings page, recipes; liaise with the graphic designer to create final design and layout of magazine; as well as organise printing and distribution.

 

Mentor

We are currently looking for a Media Professional to Mentor our Editorial Team over the next 2 months, as a volunteer. We would require you for two team meetings in January (approximately 2 hours). If you are interested or would like to find out more please get in touch.

Particular groups who we would love to hear from are faith groups or faith communities in London, educational institutions, second-tier volunteering organisations, and design and media groups.
